Frequently asked questions on home tuition

Ask Us Anything

You may request a tutor via our tutor request form. You can also drop us a message on WhatsApp if you are in a hurry.

There are three main tutor categories for you to choose from:

  • Part-Time Tutors: Generally, most of these tutors are undergraduates who are still studying in university. Hence, they are generally the cheapest option for 1 to 1 home tuition in Singapore.
  • Full-Time Tutors: This group of tutors teach home tuition as their main profession. Correspondingly, they are usually diploma or degree holders with significantly more teaching experience. Since these tutors have varying qualification and experience, their rates will vary as well.
  • School Teachers: These are the most experienced tutors. Specifically, they are either current or ex-MOE teachers. Therefore, be prepared to pay a premium in order to engage these teachers successfully.

Please indicate in the remarks if you have a particular requirement for the tutor. For example, the tutor must have scored an ‘A’ grade for their A-Level Mathematics. Subsequently, we will filter and shortlist the home tutors according to your criteria.

Our services are completely free of charge. Additionally, the agency commission fee is charged directly to the home tutors and not you. The first two weeks of active tuition lessons are payable to our agency as commission. This is directly deducted from the tutor’s tuition fees, so you are not required to pay anything extra. Therefore, you only need to pay for lessons conducted.

There is absolutely no hidden fee. In fact, our pricing is fully transparent and as is presented to you in the tutor profiles.

We have various payment methods for you to choose from:

  • i-Banking
  • ATM bank transfer
  • PayLah! by DBS
  • PayNow

Please contact us directly for cheque payment.

You do not need to make any advance payment. Payment will only be collected after lessons have been conducted.

There is no minimum commitment or contract. However, once the first lesson has been confirmed, it must be conducted. Subsequently, if the tutor is not suitable, you may request to change or terminate any future lessons.

Generally, lessons are conducted at the comfort of your home. However, if it is inconvenient for lessons to be conducted there, you may choose to have the lessons conducted elsewhere. For instance, lessons can be conducted in public areas such as libraries or cafeterias.

Yes, you may do so only after the first lesson. In addition, you must inform us of the termination at least 24 hours before the next lesson. Any termination made in less than 24 hours will incur a late charge of 50% of the lesson’s total fee.
